The toilet has a toilet bowl (11) with a spectacles-like toilet seat (12), and a hood-like cleaning device (13) which can be laid on the seat via an intermediate seal (18), to apply a cleaning fluid and/or air to the seat. The seal (18) has a hollow profile, and the pressure inside the seal can be increased by a pressure fluid, such as air, to inflate the seal.
