<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter provided with protrusions for divided alignment of a liquid crystal, of which the height and the angle of contact with a substrate of an arch shape of the protrusion to widen a viewing angle of a liquid crystal display are stably formed, which does not cause alignment unevenness in the liquid crystal and which is also excellent in transmittance without coloring the protrusions and the liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The protrusion 5 is a single resin layer formed by using a negative resist containing an alkali soluble resin, a photopolymerization initiator and a photo-polymerizable monomer as main components. A cross-sectional profile of the protrusion 5 has the arch shape and the angle of contact with the substrate 1 is 5-60°. The height of the protrusion 5 is 0.3-5.0 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
