摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rational and practicable method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element equipped with a dual microlens structure. <P>SOLUTION: In the dual microlens structure, a microlens array consisting of two-dimensionally arrayed microlenses condensing light to respective pixels is integrally formed on one substrate and another microlens array consisting of two-dimensionally arrayed microlenses functioning as field lenses for the respective pixels is integrally formed on the other substrate. The microlens array is integrated into a rear surface of the substrate via a step to stick a mounting glass 2 to a surface 1f of a substrate 1, a step to grind a rear surface 1b of the substrate 1 in a state of being held on the mounting glass 2 so as to reduce thickness, a step to laminate the microlens array 4 on the ground rear surface 1b via a high-refractive-index transparent optical resin 5 and a step to release the mounting glass 2 from the surface 1f of the substrate 1 and to clean the surface 1f. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
