PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pressure roller from being soiled due to calcium carbonate. SOLUTION: The device uses the pressure roller formed in such a manner that an outer layer of fluorocarbon resin is formed on an underneath layer of conductive silicone rubber so as to have a surface hardness of 50°or less and a surface roughness of Rz<2μm. A bias is applied so that the conductive silicone rubber layer and a fixing film have potentials that are approximately the same. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
