PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monofilament for an industrial cloth having uniformly finished surface and free from periodical sink defects on the cloth and provide a method for the efficient winding of the monofilament. SOLUTION: The monofilament for an industrial cloth is a monofilament having high water-absorption and/or high elastic modulus. The monofilament is wound in the form of a pirn to form a package having a specific wound yarn pitch. The variation of the stretch tension of the monofilament continuously supplied from the package and measured at a stretch ratio of 4.5% is≤0.15 cN/dtex per 10 m yarn length. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
