MANUFACTURING METHOD OF BEARING UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for improving flatness of a flange of a hub spindle used by a bearing unit. SOLUTION: Before mounting a bolt 9 to a through hole 24 of a flange 21 of the hub spindle 2, a dummy plug 10 as a dummy for the bolt 9 is pressed and fitted into the through hole 24 and is plastically deformed to generate a projection same as in a conventional case. An outer surface of the flange with the projection generated is finished by shaving to be flat. This improves flatness of the outer surface of the flange 21 so that a disc rotor 6 can abut on the outer surface of the flange 21 without any misalignment when the bolt 9 is inserted into the through hole 24 of the flange 21.
