PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deformation of a channel unit due to a capping force while ensuring the cross-sectional area of a manifold required for attaining a good ejection performance. SOLUTION: Each manifold 7 is provided on the same side as a nozzle with respect to a plurality of pressure chambers communicating with the nozzles wherein each pressure chamber is communicating with the manifold 7. On the nozzle side surface of the manifold 7, a reinforcing part 16 for decreasing the width at the bottom part 17 of the manifold 7 is formed. The reinforcing part 16 has a two-step shape. Even if a cap abuts against a corresponding nozzle plate 11 when the nozzle is covered with a purge cap, a nozzle plate 11 is not deformed because of presence of the reinforcing part 16.
