X-ray free intravascular position and imaging system

摘要

The method involves using a location device (5) on the inserted end of a medical instrument (3) to determine the instrument position in the object (1) and simultaneously acquiring image information of the surroundings with an image acquisition device (4). The position of the object is displayed in an overview image of the object with the aid of the determined position and images of surroundings corresponding to indicated positions are displayed. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for locating the position of a medical instrument inserted into an object under investigation and generating an image of the surroundings, a medical instrument and a computer program for implementing the method.
