PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character processor in which the size of pattern data of an ornamented character form is not enlarged when generating pattern data of the ornamented character form on the basis of pattern data of a standard character form. SOLUTION: When character ornamentation is set to input character data, an outline font pattern corresponding to the input character, which is stored in a font memory, is expanded in a print data memory 14b in the standard character form as print pattern data of a character size (46×46 dots) smaller than a character size (for example, em: (48×48 dots)) set by a parameter of a print format, and print pattern data of 48×48 dots are generated as an ornamented character form like a voided character form by prescribed data processing corresponding to the set character ornamentation.
