LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a 'blur' of a moving picture caused by the temperature dependence of a liquid crystal constituting a liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a current control means CCR for supplying tube currents to a cold cathode fluorescent lamp CFL by a control output of a tube current control signal generation means CPR by comparing a standard temperature value with an output value of a temperature sensor TSR for detecting the temperature of the liquid crystal panel PNL. When turning on the liquid crystal display device, the liquid crystal panel PNL is forcibly heated by increasing the tube current value higher than a steady state current value to be supplied to the cold cathode fluorescent lamp CFL constituting a lighting device to stabilize the moving picture performance within a short time.
