PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a tungsten - copper composite powder without generating an intermediate product such as CuWO4, a production method for the tungsten - copper composite powder having a composition in which tungsten powder is coated so as to coat copper powder by introducing a three steps reduction heat treatment, and to obtain a material for the powder injection molding of the tungsten - copper composite powder coated with tungsten. SOLUTION: The tungsten - copper composite powder coated with tungsten is produced by executing a step in which a tungsten oxide (WO3or WO2.9) powder and a copper oxide (CuO or Cu2O) powder are mixed and pulverized by turbular mixing or ball milling and a step in which the mixed and pulverized oxide powder is brought into reductive heat treatment by hydrogen atmosphere or a reducing gas atmosphere containing hydrogen.
