<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce musical sound. <P>SOLUTION: Waveform samples corresponding to a plurality of read addresses are consecutively generated, and the generated waveform samples are converted to analog signals in accordance with a reproduction rate conforming to a preliminarily determined sampling period. That is, read addresses corresponding to a plurality of sample values to be consecutively read out are preliminarily calculated and stored, so that waveform samples for use at the time of producing musical sounds can be consecutively generated and it is unnecessary to perform termination check processing of a read address at each time of waveform sample generation. Thus the processing load on an arithmetic processing means at the time of musical sound production processing is reduced, and the overhead of a CPU is reduced to efficiently carry out musical sound production processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
