<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which problems associated with minute noise and an acceleration in driving frequency are avoided and multi-gray scale and highly precise display is provided. <P>SOLUTION: Display signal data which constitute one frame are composed of a plurality of subframes, for example four subframes 1/4 to 4/4, wherein the 1/4 frame is set for an analog signal address interval, the 2/4 frame for an analog gray scale display interval, the 3/4 frame for digital signal address interval and the 4/4 frame for a digital gray scale light emission interval. The image display device is constituted so that, during the analog gray scale display interval, OLED elements 4 within pixels 6 emit light for a period of time corresponding to analog signal voltages written into storage capacitors 1 within the pixels under the control of an analog driving signal circuit 12. During the digital gray scale display interval, the OLED elements conduct binary light emitting operations of light emitting/no light emitting in accordance with digital signal voltages written into storage capacitors 1 under the control of a digital signal driving circuit 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
