PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing material which is used for concrete and the like and has excellent mechanical properties over a long period, especially the reinforcing material which is used for the concrete and the like and exhibits an excellent reinforcing effect against distortion in the pulling direction. SOLUTION: This reinforcing material for the concrete and the like, comprising a resin-coated article produced by coating the surface of a fiber-like or flexible bar-like substrate with a thermoplastic resin containing a silane coupling agent and/or a titanate coupling agent, and/or with a thermosetting resin containing a silane coupling agent and/or a titanate coupling agent, is characterized in that the resin coated article has at least one protruded portion whose length is≥4 mm and larger than three times of the average diameter of the portions excluding the protruded portion.
