PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a conventional card holder in an automobile is installed in a vicinity of its ceiling and a driver has to turn the driver's eyes significantly away from the frontward field of vision, when the driver put a card in and takes out the card from the holder, bringing out an undesirable situation from a standpoint of safe driving. SOLUTION: The card holder 1 comprises a flat plate-like board 2, two parallel side plates 3 opposite to each other with a certain interval therebetween extending from the same side surface of the board 2 normal to the surface and an infinite number of small soft and elastic card supports 4, which are planted obliquely upwards on the two opposing surfaces of the side plates under the condition that the tips of the supports are arranged nearly in contact with each other. When a card is inserted between the card supports 4, no card 5 falls by being supported with the tips of the card supports 4. This card holder 1 can be installed at an arbitrary part. When the card holder 1 is installed near a driver's seat on the instrument panel of the automobile, the driver can put in the card and take out the card from the card holder without significantly turning away the driver's eyes from the frontward field of vision, resulting in bringing out an undesirable situation from a standpoint of safe driving.
