PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current which can decrease the loads on workers who detect flaws by making them confirmable defects such as corrosion and flaws of an object to be diagnosed without visual observation of wave signals displayed on a display device. SOLUTION: The detector is provided with a sensor 2, a signal amplifier 3, an absolute value processor 4, a voltage-frequency converter 5, a conversion range control device 6, a waveform shaper 7, a low frequency amplifier 8, and an acoustic sound device 9. A change in eddy current caused by a defect such as corrosion and flaw of an object to be diagnosed is detected with the sensor 2. The change is converted into a low frequency amplified signal f, and then the low frequency amplified signal f is converted into a sound by the acoustic device 9.
