PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent refrigerating capacity from significantly dropping when large refrigerating capacity is necessary, in a vapor compression type refrigerating machine using a refrigerant (carbon dioxide) having a critical temperature of 60°C or below. SOLUTION: When the detection temperature of a refrigerant temperature sensor 7 used as a parameter of pressure of a low-pressure side refrigerant (refrigerant pressure in an evaporator 4) exceeds a saturation temperature equivalent to a predetermined pressure value (for instance, 6 MPa) below a critical pressure value, a blast volume to the evaporator 4 is set to a predetermined blast volume or less by stopping an air blower 6 or minimizing the blast volume. Thereby, the heat exchange amount (heat sink amount) in the evaporator 4 is restrained, so that the pressure of the low-pressure side refrigerant is prevented from rising up to the critical pressure or above. Thereby, when large refrigerating capacity is necessary, the refrigerating capacity is prevented from significantly dropping. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
