PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly evaluate the degree of fuel saving operation in consideration of a traveling condition besides detecting and recording data of evaluation items (e.g. vehicle speed, rotation number of an engine at the time of shift up, idling time) to give evaluation points respectively in view of a evaluation criterion for overall evaluation. SOLUTION: In detecting and recording the vehicle data, which traveling condition the vehicle belongs to is determined from prescribed 1-N and recorded according to a traveling condition. On the other hand, fuel consumption is also recorded according to the condition. After giving evaluation points to the vehicle data, it is corrected by a fuel consumption ratio. Thus, evaluation points take the traveling condition in account, thereby evaluating the fuel saving operation more properly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
