PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal powder that consists of an Au-Ag alloy and has a predetermined grain size and a shape suitable for a material for conductor film formation, a conductor paste that employs this metal powder, and to provide a production method for this metal powder. SOLUTION: The metal powder consists of the alloy (the Au-Ag alloy) composed almost exclusively of gold and silver, whose average grain size is 0.1-1.0μm and is roughly formed in the shape of a globe. The conductor paste contains this metal powder. An Au-Ag alloy production method includes a step that prepares a raw material solution that contains Au and Ag sources, a step that generates the mist of the raw material, and a step that heats the mist for pulverization. At this point, the raw material solution is characterized in that it employs a nitric acid solution whose nitric acid content ratio in a medium is 40-65 mass%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
