PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste vinyl chloride resin which gives a foam satisfying both the sharpness of emboss and the surface smoothness when the foam is subjected to chemical embossing, and a paste vinyl chloride resin composition. SOLUTION: The paste vinyl chloride resin contains 0.01-0.50 wt.% of an anthraquinone sulfonate having a specified structure and has an average degree of polymerization of 1,200 to 2,000. The paste vinyl chloride resin composition is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of the paste vinyl chloride resin with 30-200 pts.wt. of a plasticizer, 300 pts.wt. or less of a filler, and 2-20 pts.wt. of a foaming agent.
