PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the usefulness of a gas barrier film which has a layer composed of a polysiloxane polymer. SOLUTION: This gas barrier film is constituted by laminating a base film (A) and a covering layer (B) which is formed by using a composition including an organosilicon compound and/or a hydrolytic condensate thereof; and the organosilicon compound is expressed by formula: R<SP>1</SP><SB>x</SB>Si(OR<SP>2</SP>)<SB>y</SB>(wherein R<SP>1</SP>is an alkyl group which can have a functional group which does not react with a hydrogen atom or active hydrogen; R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; x represents an integer greater than/equal to zero; y represents an integer greater than/equal to one; and a relationship between x and y is expressed by equation: x+y=4; and R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>can be different from each other when x or y is greater than/equal to two). The gas barrier film is characterized in that a storage elastic modulus, which is measured at a frequency of 10 Hz in a tensile mode, is in the range of 10<SP>5</SP>-10<SP>6</SP>N/cm<SP>2</SP>at any one of 40°C, 60°C, 80°C and 100°C in the covering layer (B).
