PURPOSE: Provided are a foundation earth and a ceramic ware having multiple functions favorable to human bodies including far infrared ray-emitting, deodorizing and antibacterial functions. CONSTITUTION: The foundation earth for making a ceramic ware comprises 10 to 30 wt% of a SiO2-based rock powder that contains about 70-80 wt% of SiO2 and is ground to 100-500 mesh, and 70 to 90 wt% of a clay or a kaolin. The foundation earth is produced by the method comprising the steps of: grinding the SiO2-based rock to 100-500 mesh in size; mixing 10 to 30 wt% of the SiO2-based rock powder and 70 to 90 wt% of a clay or a kaolin; and mixing the mixture with water in the ratio of 1 : 1-1.5 and blending homogeneously. Further, a ceramic ware is produced by the method comprising the steps of: forming the foundation earth into a ceramic ware; drying and decorating the formed ceramic ware and then baking preliminarily at about 800 deg.C; applying a glaze; and further baking the ceramic ware at about 1200 deg.C.
