PURPOSE: A method for controlling an air conditioner on an initial stage of starting for removing noise of a compressor of an automobile is provided to allow slugging noise of the compressor to be offset by cranking noise of an engine by driving the compressor for a preset short time regardless of on/off of an air conditioner switch during engine cranking on the initial stage of the starting to allow refrigerant to pass the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A method includes the steps of: a step checking whether an automobile is on a starting stage through an ignition switch, and determining whether status of the automobile allows generation of slugging noise of a compressor, and whether voltage inputted from a battery during engine cranking exceeds preset reference voltage; and a step driving the compressor for a preset short time if the status of the automobile allows generation of the slugging noise, and voltage of the battery exceeds the reference voltage. The status of the automobile is determined to allow generation of the slugging noise if temperature of outside air inputted by an outside air temperature sensing part exceeds preset reference temperature, and difference between temperature of coolant inputted by a coolant temperature sensing part and the temperature of the outside air is under preset reference temperature difference.
