SEGMENT AND TUNNEL CONSTRUCTING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment which allows its outer side to be washed to positively remove a back-filling material and earth and sand, to thereby facilitate construction of a tunnel, and contribute to shortening of a construction period and reduction in construction cost, and to provide a tunnel constructing method using the segment. SOLUTION: According to the tunnel constructing method, a cylindrical skin plate 5 is arranged on the rear of a shield machine, and the segments are sequentially assembled inside the skin plate 5 with a predetermined clearance portion C secured between an inner peripheral side of the skin plate 5 and the segments, to thereby form a segment ring 11. The segment has a guide slot 15 into which a washing hose 50 is inserted for spouting jet streams wj2, wj3outward in order to wash the skin plate 5 and the clearance portion C, and then the washing hose is circumferentially guided along an outer peripheral side of the segment.
