<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for forming a color image of high quality by inexpensively and also easily preventing the occurrence of color slippage in forming the color image. <P>SOLUTION: As to the color image forming apparatus 1, an LD unit 70 for holding a laser light emitting element 31 for emitting a laser beam 37 and a collimator lens 71 is mounted so that it can be shifted with reference to an optical housing for holding a polygon mirror 32 and an optical element, and the LD unit 70 is shifted with reference to the optical housing on the basis of a phase difference between an intermediate transfer single rotation detecting signal showing the single rotation cycle of an intermediate transfer belt member and a main scanning synchronous signal showing the writing start position of the laser beam 37 in the main scanning direction on a photoreceptor belt, and then, the irradiating position of the laser beam 37 on the photoreceptor belt is shifted to the subscanning direction. Then, the positional deviation of each color electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor belt 23 is accurately corrected, then, the color slippage of the color image is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
