PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified block copolymer having good compatibility with a thermoplastic resin and/or a rubbery polymer, and also to provide a modified block copolymer composition excellent in mechanical strength and impact strength which comprises the modified block copolymer and a thermoplastic resin and/or a rubbery polymer. SOLUTION: The modified block copolymer is produced as follows: an ingredient (1) being a primary modified block copolymer, or its hydrogenated product, obtained by an addition reaction of a modifying agent containing a functional group with a block copolymer comprising at least one polymer block (A) mainly comprising a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and at least one polymer block (B) mainly comprising a conjugated diene is modified by an ingredient (2) composed of a functional oligomer reactive with the functional group in the ingredient (1).
