PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duct on an elevator car, making effective use of a space at the upper part of a car box and preventing entry of water therein during the overflow of a pit. SOLUTION: The elevator consists of the car box 10 and a car frame 11 supporting the car box 10. The car frame 11 has a pair of right and left rising columns 12, 12 arranged on both sides of the car box 10 with their upper ends protruded upward from the car box 10 and an upper beam 13 arranged at the upper part of the car box 10 with its either end connected to the upper end of the rising column 12. The duct 14 on the elevator car is provided on the elevator for storing wires and electric circuits to be connected to electric equipment for the car box 10. It is arranged at the upper part of the car box 10 between the upper ends of the pair of rising columns 12, 12 or perpendicularly to the upper beam 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
