PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new heat-developable photosensitive material having improved sensitivity and image preservability by using a silver polycarboxylate and a thermal solvent having a specified melting point at the same time and to provide an imaging method. SOLUTION: In the heat-developable photosensitive material comprising at least (a) a photosensitive silver halide, (b) a reducible silver polycarboxylate, (c) a reducing agent for a silver ion, (d) a binder and (e) a thermal solvent, the melting point of a free carboxylic acid of the reducible silver polycarboxylate (b) is 60-400°C and the melting point of the thermal solvent (e) is 50-200°C.
