PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dirt stopper for a side ditch, which is installed in a side ditch with high degree of freedom of selection. SOLUTION: The dirt stopper for the side ditch consists of an upper frame member 2 extending in a width direction of the side ditch 200, and a dirt catching portion 3 hanging from the upper frame member. The upper frame member 2 is elastically repulsive against a compressive force in a longitudinal direction, and therefore compressively deformed in the same direction. For example, at least a longitudinal edge of the upper frame member 2 is formed of an elastic body 22 for elastically repelling a compressive force in the longitudinal direction.
