PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating a container suitable to treat the cylindrical container having a foil wound on a body thereof in a large quantity in a short time. SOLUTION: The method for treating the container instead of a conventional method for treating the cylindrical container having the film wound on the body thereof comprises a force-feed pipe preparing step of preparing a force-feed pipe capable of force-feeding the container in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical shape; a container force-feeding step of force-feeding the container in the force-feed pipe; a film cutting step of cutting, into pieces, the film wound on the container along the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical shape during the container force-feeding step; and a film selecting step of separating the film from the container by wind selection after the film cutting step.
