Device for detecting metal objects

The device for detecting metallic objects in the foot and leg region of persons passing through access control. The device comprises one or more metal detectors (10,12,14,16) in the floor or near to the floor, so that each leg and foot can be detected separately. Separate detection of each leg and foot means that signals from each leg and or foot can be compared to determine if a reading is false.
