The trough course for a scraper chain conveyor has iron U-sections interconnected with horizontal flange members pointing outwards. The upper run (3) has two separate, rolled and preferably L-shaped or T-shaped side sections which by their vertical members (32) are welded to the conveyor bottom (30). The metal plate (5A,5B) connecting the U-sections by means of side guides for the rails (20) forming the lower run (2) is supported relative to a bottom plate (7) welded to the lower flange members.
