Method and device for folding flat ribbon cables

The cable to be folded is attached at its 'fixed end' (4) to a folding table, and at its other, 'manipulated end' (5) is guided by a handling device (3). The handling device brings the manipulated end into a position it is to have after folding. A folding device such as a roller is used to smooth out loops (14) formed at this position in the ribbon cable. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for performing the method.
