<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a depth-of-focus extending method by which the depth of focus of an image forming optical system can be extended at low cost with a simple constitution and at the excellent degree of freedom in designing in the case of recording an image on recording material by exposure, and to pro vide an image recorder using the depth-of-focus extending method and stably and appropriately recording the image even when an exposure surface varys. <P>SOLUTION: A means for generating a plurality of focal points which is constituted by arraying a plurality of media having a different refractive index in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis and constituted so that the total of transmitted light quantity of every refractive index can be nearly coincident in all the refractive indexes, is arranged in an area where recording light carrying the image is condensed or diverged, in the case of recording the image on the recording material by the exposure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
