PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain dispersion of resistance when a steering column is moved relatively with respect to a body, while preventing backlash of the steering column when moved. SOLUTION: This steering gear 1 has a groove-shaped lower bracket 8 fixed to the steering column 4, and including a top plate 13 and a pair of side plates 14 so as to support the steering column 4 onto the body 7, a lower body side bracket 15 having a pair of side plates 16 for sandwiching the lower bracket 8 and fixed to a body 7 side, and a support shaft 18 penetrated through the side plates 14, 16 of the both brackets 8, 15. A laterally oblong hole 20 through which the support shaft 18 is insertion-penetrated is provided in the side plates 14 to be extended along a longitudinal-direction of the steering column 4, so as to guide the support shaft 18. An annular rubber member 45 as an elastic member is interposed between an axis-directional intermediate part 44 of the support shaft 18 and the top plate 13, the support shaft 18 is energized radial- directionally to be deformed naturally, while preventing the backlash of the steering column, and the dispersion of the resistance is thereby restrained when is moved.
