PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively manufacture an optical waveguide unit and to suppress an increase in an optical transmission loss in an optical waveguide unit technology. SOLUTION: In a forming die for clad production of the optical waveguide unit, the both surfaces of a plate-like member are sandwiched by a plurality of members for fixing, and a portion of the plate-like member is projected from the end surface of the member for fixing. As for a clad, the projection part of the plate-like member and the end surface of the member for fixing are covered with a plastic material, and a groove part is formed on the surface of the plastic material by the projection part of the plate-like member to be cured. Further, a second member is connected to the clad and the groove part is covered, and resin, etc., is then injected into the groove part as a core material and cured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
