PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the outward movement of a sector mold 26 in a radial direction at the time of vulcanization though the mold is simple in structure, small-sized and inexpensive. SOLUTION: When an unvulcanized tire M is housed in a vulcanizing mold in a hermetically closed state, a rotary ring 19 is rotated to bring the undersurface of an arcuate pawl 51 into contact with an arcuate pawl 53 and a vulcanizing agent is subsequently supplied into the unvulanized tire M to vulcanize the tire. At this time, the downward force applied to a lower mold 21 from a vulcanizing medium is converted to inward force in the radial direction by the arcuate pawls 51 and 53 and the inclined inner periphery 40a of an outer ring 40 to be transmitted to the sector mold 26. As a result, the inward force in the radial direction is added to the mold clamping force due to a drive cylinder 43 to increase the clamping force to the sector mold 26. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
