PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which restricts energy waste with a simple control-structure and restricts the effect of long idling on a fixing process. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a control means that controls the energization of a heat source in such a manner that a heat roller is rotated and also warming up is carried out by the heat source with a fixing belt kept running, then, the device detects, via a temperature sensor, that the surface temperature of the heat roller has reached a set temperature at which fixing is allowed, thereby stopping the drive of the heat roller and the fixing belt and also starting time measurement by the use of a time measuring means, and if the operation of the fixing process is not executed within a predetermined period of time after the start of the time measurement, a control temperature higher than the set temperature is used as a fresh set temperature in order to control the surface temperature of the heat roller.
