PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head and an ink jet recorder, in which a substantially uniform back pressure can be generated in each groove without providing a filter and the cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: The ink jet head 10 comprises a plurality of grooves 23 each communicating with a nozzle opening 22, a common ink chamber 32 communicating with respective grooves 23, and an ink reservoir 34 constituting a part of an ink channel interconnecting an ink storing means and the common ink chamber 32. The common ink chamber 32 is defined by a wall 33 provided along the arranging direction of the grooves 23 while facing each opening of the groove 23 communicating with the common ink chamber 32. A gap of a specified width is formed, as a part 35 communicating with the ink reservoir 34, between the edge of the wall 33 along the arranging direction of the grooves 23 or the edge along the longitudinal direction of the grooves 23 on the opposite end sides in the arranging direction and a member facing the edge and a specified back pressure is generated at the time of ejecting ink.
