PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke interruption sliding door capable of preventing the thrusting back of door panels during closing. SOLUTION: At the start of a fire, door panels 20 and 21 are started to close through a chain 44 suspended to a sprocket wheel 42 and a guide sprocket 43 by an elastic force of a constant load spring 41 of the door panel 41 of door panel closing drive equipment 40, a power generator brake 65 of a power generator braking equipment 60 is started to operate by closing the door panels 20 and 21, its generated electric power is consumed by a load resistance, and a braking force is applied to the closing operation of the door panels 20 and 21. At the time of full closing of the door panels 20 and 21, a door panel pressing mechanism 100 pressing the door panels 20 and 21 to a fixed member is provided, and any gap between the door panels 20 and 21 and the fixed member is eliminated. Also, when the door panels 20 and 21 are fully closed, the smoke interruption modesty panel 121 of a smoke interruption modesty panel drive mechanism 110 is lowered and a gap between the door panels 20 and 21 and floor surface is eliminated.
