<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the running cost of ink by readily attaching an ink supply optional unit to an existing on-carriage ink cartridge type inkjet printer. <P>SOLUTION: This ink supply optional unit consists of an ink tank, a tube, and an attachment and supplies the ink by a head difference method.
