PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive optical transmitter/receiver having a small number of parts. SOLUTION: In this optical transmitter/receiver provided with a light emitting element (11), a light receiving element (13) and a branching filter (16). The light emitting element (11), the branching filter (16) and an optical fiber (12) are arranged almost coaxially, and lenses (14) and (15) are disposed between the light emitting element (11) and the branching filter (16) and between the branching filter (16) and the optical fiber (12), respectively. The lens (14) is arranged to reduce the divergence angle of divergent light from the light emitting element (11), the lens (15) is arranged to focus divergent light that has transmitted the branching filter (16) on the end face of the optical fiber (12), to converge divergent light from the optical fiber (12), and the light receiving element (13) is arranged such that light from the optical fiber (12) reflected by the branching filter (16) is focused.
