PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen an increase in the temperature of the nip ends of a fixing device and prevent trouble caused by an increase in the diameter of a heat transfer roller provided additionally. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a roller which abuts on a heat roller and/or a pressure roller which are disposed in the fixing device. The roller is made of a material having high thermal conductivity and has a surface treated so as to hinder toner from sticking to the surface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
