PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-tensioner provided with a damping member which is less to liable crack or damage and to produce noise. SOLUTION: Two setting holes 112 are formed in a damping member 70, and the damping member 70 is integrally set in a swinging arm by respectively engaging with two projections 348 formed at the swinging arm. The damping member 70 is integrally set in a fixing member. The damping member 70 is pressed and energized into a fixing member at outside in the axial direction. A clearance is provided between the setting hole 112 and the projection 348 in the pressing and energizing direction, and the both are placed in contact with in the frictional sliding direction.
