PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desired image more quickly even if a cutting means has a fixing error. SOLUTION: The recorder comprises a carrying means for carrying a recording medium, a recording means for recording on the recording medium, a cutting means for cutting the recorded recording medium, and a control means for controlling the recording operation while making a selection between a first recording mode where the information of fixing error occurring when the cutting means is fixed to the recorder body is acquired and recording is performed while regulating the amount of the recording medium being carried by the carrying means based on that information and a second recording mode where recording is performed while fixing the amount of the recording medium being carried by the carrying means.
