PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit access to a document contrary to the intention of a document register by limiting access to a box document for each box document, each document and each kind of job. SOLUTION: The image input/output system comprises a means for inputting image data, a means for storing the image data inputted by the image input means sequentially, a means for reading out the image data stored in the image storing means, a means for managing the image storing means while dividing into a plurality of box areas, a means for storing the image data in an arbitrary box area, a means for specifying arbitrary image data from an arbitrary box area and reading out the image, a means for setting a limit number of times of reading out arbitrary image data for each type of job, a means for counting the number of times of reading out arbitrary image data for each type of job, and a means for making a decision whether arbitrary image data can be read out or not.
