<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a 4D type electrophotographic image forming apparatus using an intermediate transfer belt, which realizes the shortening of FCOT at the time of BW and its miniaturization and prevents the shortening of the life of a color kit at the time of BW recording. <P>SOLUTION: A Bk drum is arranged to advance to the inside from the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate transfer belt on the upstream side of a secondary transfer part, and other three color drums are arranged on other transfer surfaces. In such constitution, three color drums and the intermediate transfer belt are separated by moving at least either of a pair of inside laying rollers forming the transfer surface opposed to three color drums at the time of forming the monochrome image of Bk. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
