<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for biometric authentication, a data recording medium, and a program, which improve the precision of authentication and the reliability when using biometric information to perform personal identification. <P>SOLUTION: When biometric information (voice information or the like) for register and that for collation are compared with each other to perform personal identification, change of information caused by an influence of noise, an individual physical condition, etc., is recognized as an error and a check block is generated from a self code book obtained from biometric information of a registrant himself or herself (s4), and the check block is used to perform error correction processing about a pattern vector 51 for collation (S13), and thereafter, this decoded pattern vector for collation and the self code book are collated with each other (S14). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
