PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem where friction is large on a road surface such as asphalt paved surface to make change of direction difficult when a crawler type running device is used for a conveying car, a wheelchair for care, or the like that is of a hand type or uses an auxiliary small power. SOLUTION: The crawler type running device exhibits an accomplishing property on a sand beach, a gravel road, or the like. Only when the travelling direction is changed, part of a crawler belt is pressed down to reduce area of a ground part to facilitate the turning. A pressing device is provided where guide wheels are mounted to both ends of a frame longitudinal in the moving direction, the crawler belt is hung on the guide wheels, and the part of the crawler belt is pressed down to change the travelling direction.
