PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost optical isolator element whose external shape is small and cylindrical and which uses a optical element in a rectangular parallelepiped shape. SOLUTION: The optical isolator element comprises a magnet with a cylindrical external shape and an optical element 21. The magnet is constituted by combining a U-shaped magnet 11b which has a nearly cylindrical external shape and a rectangular internal shape and a plate type magnet 11a together and the sectional shape of the magnet perpendicular to an optical path has a nearly round external shape and a rectangular internal shape.
